We ask for updated rabies paperwork and home address for our database. These are required by the Department of Agriculture. When bringing your pet to our shop, we do ask that they are leashed, carried, or kenneled until they are securely in the vehicle or safely in the building.

At Happy Tailz Grooming Salon, every service is done by hand by an experienced groomer who knows how to keep dogs safe and comfortable on the table. Here is a closer look at what a standard groom includes and the extras you can add.
Bath and haircut
Every basic groom starts with a full bath. We choose from several shampoos, including medicated and hypoallergenic formulas, based on your dog's skin and coat, because a clean, well-washed coat is what makes a quality haircut possible. After drying, your groomer styles the coat the way you ask, from a short, easy-care trim to a breed-style cut. Not sure what to ask for? Tell us how you like your dog to look and how much brushing you do at home, and we will suggest a style that fits.
Nail clipping and nail grinding
Nail clipping is part of every groom. Overgrown nails can change the way a dog stands and walks, and they are more likely to snag or split. For a smoother, rounder finish, add nail grinding to your appointment.
Ear cleaning and plucking
Floppy ears and hairy ear canals can trap moisture and debris. Each groom includes gentle ear cleaning and, where needed, plucking of excess ear hair. If your groomer notices redness, odor or discharge, we will let you know so you can follow up with your veterinarian.
Anal gland expression
External anal gland expression is included with every groom. Glands that do not empty on their own can make a dog uncomfortable (scooting is a common sign), and routine expression during grooming can help.
Teeth brushing
Add teeth brushing to any groom for fresher breath. It is an easy way to support your dog's at-home dental care between veterinary check-ups.
Deshedding
For double-coated and heavy-shedding dogs, deshedding removes loose undercoat so there is less hair on your floors and furniture. If heavy shedding gets in the way of a quality haircut, a deshedding or brush-out fee may apply. You can also choose deshedding with a bath to reduce shedding at home. Pricing varies with the condition of the coat.
Dematting
Mats pull on the skin and can hide irritation underneath. When a dog arrives matted, we work carefully to remove mats where it is safe to do so. Because dematting takes extra time and care, a dematting fee may apply, and pricing varies with severity. When matting is severe, a short clip is sometimes the kindest option, and your groomer will talk it through with you first.
Clean feet (poodle feet)
Clean feet, also called poodle feet, means shaving the toes and feet for the neat look you see on poodles. This add-on is $12.

How to book and pay
Appointments are made by phone only. Call the shop at (229) 794-5216, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We accept cash and check for your quoted price, and card payments carry a 3.95% processing charge. Please review the customer notice below for our fees for no-shows, same-day cancellations, late arrivals and extended stays.

Notice to Our Customers
Due to the time and care it takes to safely perform certain grooming operations, we do charge additionally for the following:
• Dematting: If your dog is matted, there may be a dematting fee: pricing varies with severity • Deshedding: If your dog's shedding interferes with the quality of the haircut, there may be a deshedding/brush out fee. Alternatively, you may choose to get deshedding with a bath for reduction at home: pricing varies with severity • Clean Feet aka Poodle Feet is the process of shaving the toes as seen on poodles: $12
• No Show Fee ($25): Applied to the next service after a confirmed appointment is missed • Same Day Cancellation ($15): Applied to the next service when a confirmed appointment is cancelled on the same day • Late Fee ($5/15 min): For every 15 minutes late to an appointment, $5 will be charged to the appointment. For example, if you are 30 minutes late, then you will receive a $10 charge. • Day Stay Fee ($12): Due to limited space, we are unable to keep dogs for long periods of time uponcompletion. If it takes more than 2 hours after we make contact with you for you to pick up your dog, a $12 day stay fee will be charged to the appointment.
We accept cash and check for your given price. There is a 3.95% processing charge when paying with a credit/debit card.
